Workshops

Sensory Gardens is passionate about education and creating awareness!

Over the past 10 years, Justin Calverley has facilitated workshops and conducted presentations all over Victoria. His workshops are held predominately at CERES Environmental Park in East Brunswick and are offered all year round. These courses and workshops are always popular and can book out quickly. Workshops usually range from 1-2 days, however, some such as the Complete Urban Farmer course is conducted over 14 weeks.

Justin has assisted many Primary and Secondary schools in planning and constructing 'Kitchen Garden Programmes'. Depending on the schools wishes, assistance can be offered from the planning and design stage, right through to project managing the gardens construction and continue with the ongoing monitoring and training. We have found that facilitating workshops for parents and teachers to be a popular service as it ensures the gardens are continued and maintained as families move in and out of the school.

Sensory Gardens also conducts horticultural presentations and education events for gardening clubs, councils and various other groups wishing to find out more about specialist subjects. Presentations can vary in time from 1-4hrs depending on detail required.

Presentations and workshops cover many areas of Horticulture and can include the following:

*Introduction to Permaculture
*Permaculture Design Certificate
*Complete Urban Farmer
*Sustainable Gardening
*Composting/Worm farming
*Organic Fruit and Vegetable production
*Indigenous Gardens
*Bushfoods
*Potted Gardens
*School Kitchen Gardens
